Natural Dye Workshop

Join master herbalist Anna Derrer of Nettles and Petals for a natural plant dye workshop.  She will give an introduction into natural dyes with easy to find/grow plant materials (many you can find in your own home!). She will teach about the basics for treating & dyeing your fabric as well as which plant materials you can grow or wild craft yourself so you can feel ready to experiment at home.  She will provide all the necessary supplies, dyes, & pretreated fabrics for you to be able to make & TAKE your own project with you.

You will be designing & bundle dyeing your own beautiful silk scarves with homegrown & wildcrafted dye materials. Bundle dyeing creates colorful creations & can be a useful skill to learn for making your own dyed fabrics at home. Bundle dyeing is also a great way to bring new life to old clothes, cover up stains (great for kid's clothes!), & add color to your garments.  While our scarves are steaming, we will enjoy some tea & homemade herbal treats.  Please feel free to bring your favorite mug!
