Hands-on HUGELKULTUR building workshop

Join farmer florist Sarah Wagstaff as she teaches about how & why of using the sustainable method of gardening called Hugelkultur.  Sign up for 1 or both of these hands-on weekend workshops where we will get our hands dirty actually building a regenerative hugelkultur row at SUOT Farm and Flowers newest acreage.  

Part 1 (June 17) will be an quick intro into hugelkultur & volunteer safety followed by peeling back the occulation plastic, measuring out the bed length & widths, piling up woody debris (starting with the biggest on bottom), & resecuring the occultation plastic for the next area.

Part 2 (June 24) will be an quick intro/recap of hugelkultur & volunteer safety followed by checking on our hugelkultur settling/decomposition from part 1, add brown layers (smaller branches/sticks) to the bed.

Address will be emailed to you in advance of the workshop.  This is a private residence.  Please do not show up outside of these times.  Please respect the private property & buildings, as well as park in designated areas. 

Attire: participants must wear closed toed shoes & clothing that covers their legs.  Work gloves are highly recommended (we will have some size M to share).  Hat, sunglasses, sunscreen are ecouraged. This is a rural farm so work clothing is recommended.  May be muddy or rainy; dress according to the weather & bring a water bottle.  Please leave your pets at home.
